How to interpret the results of ethylene oxide sterilization biological monitoring?
2022-12-01
The indicator bacteria used for biological monitoring of Custom Ethylene Oxide Treatment is Bacillus subtilis var. niger spore. After cultivation, the positive control has bacteria growth within 24 hours; If the monitoring samples are continuously cultured and observed for 5 days, and all of them grow aseptically, it can be reported that the biological indicator culture is negative and the sterilization is qualified.
The result of positive control group is positive, the culture of negative control group is negative, and the culture of test group is negative. It is determined that the sterilization is qualified. If the positive control group is positive, the negative control group is negative in culture, and the test group is positive, the sterilization is unqualified; At the same time, it shall further identify whether the positive bacteria in the test group are indicator bacteria or caused by pollution.
Place the routine biological test package at the most difficult part of the sterilizer to sterilize (the center of all sterilization packages), and take the biological test package out of the sterilized articles immediately after the completion of the sterilization cycle. The self contained biological indicator shall be cultured in accordance with the product instructions. If the spore bacterial tablet is used, the spore bacterial tablet shall be inoculated into the sterile tube containing 5ML tryptone soybean broth medium (TSB) under sterile conditions and cultured at 36 ℃± ℃ for 48H. The preliminary results shall be observed, and the sterile growth tube shall continue to be cultured until the 7th day. During the test, the culture medium is used as the negative control (no negative control is required for self contained biological indicators), and the culture medium with spore cells is used as the positive control.

Waste gas treatment or Scrubber
The waste gas mainly comes from the ethylene oxide gas produced by the sterilization process and aeration chamber. We offer two different ways to reduce the waste EO gas concentration(PPM) to achieve the limited requirement you need--scrubber or the catalyst using electricity. Two different ways to reduce the PPM of the EO waste gas.
